A delightful quiche that combines creamy custard with your favorite fillings in a flaky crust, perfect for any meal.

  • Total Time: 60 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (Homemade or store-bought)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream (can substitute with half-and-half)
  • 1 cup whole milk (non-dairy milk for a dairy-free option)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Gruyère, cheddar, or a blend)
  • 6 strips cooked bacon (optional; can substitute with sausage)
  • 0.5 cup diced ham (optional; turkey or chicken are alternatives)
  • 0.5 cup sautéed spinach (ensure moisture is squeezed out)
  • 0.5 cup caramelized onion (shallots can replace for a milder flavor)
  • Salt (adjust to taste)
  • Black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 pinch nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. If using a homemade pie crust, roll it out and fit it into a pie dish. If using a store-bought crust, place it into the dish according to package instructions.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and milk until smooth.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheese, cooked bacon, diced ham, sautéed spinach, and caramelized onion. Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Mix well.
  5. Pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, simply omit the bacon and ham. Wrap leftovers tightly and store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze individual slices.
