Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pie crust (Homemade or store-bought)
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream (can substitute with half-and-half)
- 1 cup whole milk (non-dairy milk for a dairy-free option)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Gruyère, cheddar, or a blend)
- 6 strips cooked bacon (optional; can substitute with sausage)
- 0.5 cup diced ham (optional; turkey or chicken are alternatives)
- 0.5 cup sautéed spinach (ensure moisture is squeezed out)
- 0.5 cup caramelized onion (shallots can replace for a milder flavor)
- Salt (adjust to taste)
- Black pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 pinch nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- If using a homemade pie crust, roll it out and fit it into a pie dish. If using a store-bought crust, place it into the dish according to package instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and milk until smooth.
- Stir in the shredded cheese, cooked bacon, diced ham, sautéed spinach, and caramelized onion. Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Mix well.
- Pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, simply omit the bacon and ham. Wrap leftovers tightly and store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze individual slices.
