- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Green onions, for garnish
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch to create the marinade.
- Add chicken pieces and let marinate for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add marinated chicken to the skillet and cook until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour leftover marinade into the skillet and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with green onions.
Notes
For extra flavor, add chopped bell peppers or broccoli while sautéing the chicken. You can substitute chicken with tofu or tempeh for a vegetarian option.
