Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- Mix the warm water and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it stand for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy and bubbly.
- Whisk together the flour and salt, making a well in the center. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring gently to combine.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 60-120 minutes until it doubles in size.
- Punch down the risen dough gently, then divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion out on a floured surface.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place the dough on a baking sheet, add toppings, and bake for about 12-15 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
Notes
You can store leftover dough in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
