Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups soft caramels (Kraft caramel squares or caramel bits)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ cup butterscotch chips
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup toffee bits
- Optional: 2–3 tablespoons chopped peanuts
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan with parchment paper and lightly spray with nonstick spray. (⏱️ 2 minutes)
- Add caramels, heavy cream, and butter to a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy. (⏱️ 2–3 minutes)
- Pour the melted caramel mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly to about ¼ inch thick. (⏱️ 1 minute)
- Immediately sprinkle butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, toffee bits, and optional peanuts over the top. Gently press so they stick. (⏱️ 2 minutes)
- Let the bark set for 1 hour at room temperature or refrigerate for 20–25 minutes until firm enough to cut. (⏱️ 20–60 minutes)
- Remove from the pan, lift the parchment, and cut into squares or break into rustic shards. (⏱️ 2 minutes)
Notes
Stir the caramel mixture until smooth. You can add a pinch of sea salt on top. For nut-free, skip the peanuts. Experiment with different mix-ins!
