A delightful dish combining savory meatballs with honey BBQ sauce and topped with gooey cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb frozen meatballs
  • 12 oz penne or rotini pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup honey BBQ sauce
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the diced onion until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in frozen meatballs, chicken broth, and honey BBQ sauce; mix well.
  4. Bring to a simmer and add pasta, ensuring it’s submerged in the liquid.
  5. Cover and cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta is al dente.
  6. Remove the lid and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Cover again and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
  8. Season with salt and pepper before serving.

Notes

Customize the dish by adding vegetables or using a mix of cheeses for different flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
