Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cookie butter
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie butter over the batter, then spread the remaining batter on top.
- Use a knife to swirl the cookie butter into the batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool, cut into squares, and serve. Optional: serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For extra cookie butter flavor, swirl in more cookie butter before baking. Use quality cocoa powder for deeper chocolate flavor.
