- 4 cups cornflakes
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil, then remove from heat.
- Add vanilla extract and salt to the sauce.
- In a large bowl, pour the cornflakes and drizzle the caramel sauce over them. Mix well until the cornflakes are fully coated.
- Spread the cornflake mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler, then drizzle over the cornflakes.
- Allow to cool and harden before breaking into pieces.
Notes
Mix the cornflakes gently with the sauce to avoid crushing them. You can customize with different types of chocolate chips or add nuts and dried fruit for extra texture.
