- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 pound ground pork (or chicken or beef)
- 1/2 small onion (thinly sliced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 (14-ounce) bag coleslaw mix (or shredded cabbage)
- 3–4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon green onions (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, add 1 tablespoon of oil.
- Add the pork and cook until no longer pink, about 6-7 minutes.
- Use a spatula to break it into small pieces while cooking.
- Add the onions and garlic, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the onions soften.
- Mix in the coleslaw, and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Finally, add the soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, and sugar. Stir well to combine and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with green onions if desired.
Notes
Feel free to swap the ground pork for chicken, turkey, or beef. Adding extra vegetables like bell peppers or carrots can enhance flavor and nutrition.
