- 1 lb beef (sliced into thin strips)
- 8 oz mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked noodles or rice (for serving)
- Parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add onions and garlic to the same pan; sauté until translucent.
- Add mushrooms and cook until softened.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to combine.
- Gradually add beef broth, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Lower the heat and stir in sour cream until well mixed.
- Return the beef to the pan, cook for a few more minutes, and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve the stroganoff over cooked noodles or rice, garnished with parsley if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding Worcestershire sauce or a splash of white wine when making the sauce. You can substitute beef with chicken or use mushrooms for a vegetarian option.
