  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (sliced into thin strips)
  • 8 oz mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked noodles or rice (for serving)
  • Parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add onions and garlic to the same pan; sauté until translucent.
  3. Add mushrooms and cook until softened.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Gradually add beef broth, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  6. Lower the heat and stir in sour cream until well mixed.
  7. Return the beef to the pan, cook for a few more minutes, and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve the stroganoff over cooked noodles or rice, garnished with parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding Worcestershire sauce or a splash of white wine when making the sauce. You can substitute beef with chicken or use mushrooms for a vegetarian option.
