- 1 lb chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Lemon (for squeezing)
Instructions
- Heat a little olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the orzo and add the chicken broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the orzo is tender.
- Add the broccoli florets and continue to cook until the broccoli is tender.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and a squeeze of lemon before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, use turkey or veggie sausage. Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
