- 6 sheets rice paper
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- ½ tsp sugar
- ½ tsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp chopped scallions
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Soak one rice paper sheet at a time in warm water for 10 to 15 seconds until flexible.
- Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, and chili flakes in a bowl.
- Combine ½ cup of the sauce with 1½ cups of water in a saucepan and bring to a simmer.
- Briefly simmer each rice paper sheet, then transfer them to a pan.
- Crisp in a nonstick pan with sesame oil for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.
- While warm, sprinkle sesame seeds and scallions on top. Serve with the remaining dipping sauce.
Notes
Avoid soaking the rice paper too long, experiment with different fillings, and adjust spice levels to taste.
