- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast (if needed)
Instructions
- Combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast (if using) in a mixing bowl. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl. Add the sourdough starter and the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the risen dough, and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll and place them on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm with butter.
