Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup fontina cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup gouda cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Combine the cooked ziti, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, and gouda cheeses in a large bowl. Mix well.
  4. Drizzle olive oil in a 9×13 inch baking dish, then pour the ziti mixture into it.
  5. Top with the remaining cheeses.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

For a heartier dish, consider adding cooked ground beef, sausage, or vegetables like spinach and mushrooms.
