A delicious meal combining seasoned sirloin steak, creamy queso cheese, and fluffy rice, perfect for busy weeknights.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak
  • 1 cup queso cheese
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the sirloin steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cumin. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. Remove steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  4. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened.
  5. Stir in the cooked rice and queso cheese, mixing until the cheese is melted and the rice is heated through.
  6. Add the sliced steak back into the skillet and combine everything.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro.

Notes

For an extra touch, add some avocado or a dollop of sour cream. Pair with tortilla chips for a complete meal.
