Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. Shape into patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove the patties and set aside.
- Add beef broth to the same skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in sour cream, dill, and Dijon mustard until smooth.
- Return the hamburger steaks to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Serve warm with your choice of sides.
Notes
For a stronger flavor, let the patties marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before cooking. If you prefer a thicker sauce, add cornstarch mixed with water to the broth while simmering. Customize by using ground turkey or chicken and adding sautéed onions or mushrooms.
