A delicious and satisfying one-pan meal with tender steak, savory rice, and a sweet and garlicky sauce.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak, cut into strips
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Season the steak with salt and pepper; sear for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the steak and set aside.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the honey and soy sauce; bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the uncooked rice, stirring to coat it in the sauce. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the rice absorbs the liquid.
  6. Return the steak to the skillet; stir gently to combine and heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley. Pairs well with a side salad or steamed vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
