Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups Granny Smith Apples (Chopped)
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (Use gluten-free blend for gluten-free option)
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar (Brown sugar can be used)
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (Melted; can use coconut oil for dairy-free)
- 2 large Eggs (For vegan option, use flax eggs)
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (Adjust for spiciness)
- 1/2 cup Milk (Substitute with almond or oat milk for dairy-free)
- 1 cup Brown Sugar (Can replace with white sugar)
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar (Ensure well-sifted for a smooth drizzle)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the chopped apples, flour, granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, baking powder, cinnamon, and milk.
- Pour the mixture into your prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Use your fingers to mix in some melted butter until crumbs form. Sprinkle this crumb mixture over the top of the cake batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is cooling, make the cinnamon drizzle. Whisk together powdered sugar, a little cinnamon, and enough water to achieve a drizzling consistency.
- Once the cake has cooled slightly, drizzle the cinnamon icing over the top.
