A fun twist on a classic dish, this meatloaf combines savory flavors with creamy mac and cheese and a sweet maple BBQ sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup cooked macaroni
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, milk, eggs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix everything until well combined and form half of the mixture into a loaf shape on a baking sheet.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix cooked macaroni and cheddar cheese, then place this mixture in the center of the meatloaf.
  5. Cover the macaroni with the remaining meat mixture and shape it into a loaf.
  6. In a small bowl, mix BBQ sauce and maple syrup, then brush this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use a mix of ground beef and pork for extra flavor. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses.
