Deliciously soft and slightly sweet Milk Brioche perfect for breakfast, snacks, or sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a mixing bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Make a well in the center and add eggs and yeast mixture.
  3. Mix until combined.
  4. Add melted butter and knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 60-120 minutes.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Place the dough in a greased loaf pan and let it rise again until doubled.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Brush the top with the egg wash.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Wrap in plastic wrap for storage; lasts up to 3 days at room temperature. Freeze for longer storage.
