Delicious sausage rolls filled with seasoned sausage meat and herbs, perfect for holiday celebrations.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Sausage Meat (Use your favorite seasoned ground sausage)
  • 1 cup Finely Diced Onion (Shallots can be substituted)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Dried Sage (Fresh sage can elevate the flavor)
  • 1 tbsp Dried Thyme (Consider fresh thyme if available)
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper (Adjust based on spice preference)
  • 1 tsp Salt (Reduce or omit for lower sodium)
  • 1 packet Puff Pastry (Homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 large Egg (For egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil (Can use any neutral oil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic, dried sage, thyme, black pepper, and salt. Cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Combine the cooked onion mixture with the sausage meat in a bowl and mix well.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into 4-inch wide strips.
  6. Place a line of the sausage mixture along the center of each pastry strip.
  7. Fold the pastry over the filling and pinch the edges to seal. Cut each roll into desired lengths.
  8. Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and flaky.
  10. Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with dipping sauces like mustard or spicy ketchup. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
