A delightful and quick dish combining flavorful shrimp with creamy orzo pasta, perfect for busy weeknights or cozy dinners.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Cook shrimp until pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in orzo and chicken broth, bringing to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low and cover, cooking until orzo is tender, about 8-10 minutes.
  6. Mix in Parmesan cheese and heavy cream.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Make sure not to overcook the shrimp; they should only take a few minutes to turn pink. Stir the orzo occasionally while it cooks to prevent sticking. Feel free to adjust garlic and Parmesan cheese to taste.
