Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then sear for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove from pot and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the pot and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the orzo and toast for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in beef broth, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for about 10 minutes until orzo is al dente.
- Stir in heavy cream, butter, and Parmesan cheese until combined.
- Return the steak to the pot and heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning if needed and serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a healthier version, use whole grain orzo and reduce the amount of heavy cream. Adding vegetables like spinach or mushrooms also enhances the nutrition.
