- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup fresh peaches, diced
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In another bowl, mix together the cream cheese, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced peaches.
- On a floured surface, pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick.
- Cut into wedges and place on a baking sheet.
- If desired, brush with egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm plain or with butter, cream cheese, or jam. Pairs well with tea or coffee.
