- 1 whole Unbaked Pie Crust (Store-bought or homemade)
- 2 medium Yellow Onions (Caramelized)
- 2 tablespoons Butter (Can substitute with olive oil)
- 8 slices Bacon (Smoked bacon preferred)
- 6 large Eggs (Organic recommended)
- 1 cup Heavy Cream (Or Half-and-Half)
- to taste Salt
- to taste Pepper
- 1 cup Grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese (Gruyère can be used as a substitute)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Herbs (Chopped chives or parsley)
- 1 cup Vegetables (Diced tomatoes, spinach, or bell peppers)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 20 minutes. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove it from the skillet and chop into small pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and heavy cream together. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Stir in the caramelized onions, chopped bacon, grated cheese, fresh herbs, and any vegetables you wish to add.
- Place the unbaked pie crust into a deep-dish pie pan and pour the egg mixture into the crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with a side salad or fresh fruit. Can be customized with different vegetables or meats.
