  • 1 lb smoked sausage
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and brown the sliced sausage for 5–7 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and spices; cook for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Add chicken broth and simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat, mix in heavy cream and Parmesan until blended.
  6. Toss cooked pasta with the sauce; season with salt and pepper.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
