- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb smoked sausage
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and brown the sliced sausage for 5–7 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and spices; cook for 1–2 minutes.
- Add chicken broth and simmer for 3–4 minutes.
- Reduce heat, mix in heavy cream and Parmesan until blended.
- Toss cooked pasta with the sauce; season with salt and pepper.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, use a variety of smoked sausage and add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for nutrition.
