- 1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Cook penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the Italian sausage until cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Add butter and garlic to the skillet, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in honey and cook for an additional minute.
- Toss in the cooked penne with Parmesan cheese and parsley, mixing well to coat everything evenly.
- Season with salt, pepper, and optional crushed red pepper flakes before serving warm.
Notes
Serve garnished with extra parsley and grated Parmesan cheese. Pairs well with a green salad or garlic bread.
