Ingredients
Scale
- 12 ounces sushi grade tuna, cubed
- 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
- 1 small jalapeño, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 1 tablespoon chopped mint
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
Instructions
- Start by cubing the chilled tuna and keep it refrigerated to maintain freshness.
- In a bowl, mix the lime juice, lemon juice, and orange juice until well balanced.
- Add the diced onion, minced jalapeño, kosher salt, and black pepper to the citrus mixture. Let it rest briefly to combine the flavors.
- Pour the citrus mixture over the tuna cubes and fold gently to coat the tuna.
- Refrigerate for about 6 to 8 minutes until the tuna is lightly opaque.
- After marinating, drain any excess liquid without pressing on the tuna.
- Gently fold in the olive oil, chopped cilantro, and mint.
- Add the diced avocado just before serving to keep its texture, and serve immediately.
Notes
Serve chilled and enjoy fresh. Pairs well with tortilla chips or crispy tostadas.
